From
Phil: I wrote a silly parody a few years ago, sang it to my kids, filed it
somewhere and forgot about it. When asked recently to perform in my hometown, I
remembered the song, pulled it out, and asked my sons to join me singing it onstage. Jeff would play guitar and Steve would sing
harmony. They said they would rather slide down a giant cheese grater into a vat
of lemon oil than sing the song
publicly. I said, "How does 50 bucks
sound?" They said, "We're in." (They each owed me $50 anyway.) The response to the song
was - how do
they say - pretty cool. People didn't ask for an encore, but they laughed a lot
and applauded far too long.
My nephew, who works in a recording studio, invited us
to spend a half hour recording the song. It's a little rough and pitchy in
spots, but our budget was tight. I think you'll enjoy the song. (Several radio
stations play it regularly!) Feel free to email
it to
friends. Send them to the website of course! To play, click

Listener comments:
"Phil, What a hilarious, 'hairless' hoot I heard on the radio as I was driving home today...a hidden talent perhaps? So glad you are doing what you do. Caroline & Steve P, Edmonton, AB
"Phil, You’ve either found a hidden talent within yourself or you really rely on your children for backup! In all sincerity, great job with your voice and of course the lyrics." Mark G.
"You guys are good. I'm not surprised at the talented kids, but at the nice voices." Danny B., Calgary, AB
"I absolutely love the song. I'm sending it to all my bald friends." Judie B.
"Love the song! It gave me a good laugh in pretty stressful times (one of my friends is dying of ALS, another of cancer)." Thanks! Corry H.
"What I like best about the Hair Song (or Lack-of-Hair Song) is that you made it with your boys. How cool is the fact that they still like to do this type of thing with their dad? As much as anything, it demonstrates the type of parents you and Ramona have been, that you've invested time with your kids throughout their lives and simply enjoyed that time together as a family. You are reaping the rewards of that now and that's the best part about your parody to me. Keep on rockin'!" Jean S., Salem, OR
"Made our whole family laugh. Thanks. Nice voice." Vicki B., Chicago, IL
"Will you be performing this at any of your upcoming shows? We have tickets for Ottawa. I hope so." Marilyn H., Kanata, ON
