Laugh and Learn

From The ATA News (A Publication of the Alberta Teacher's Association): Teachers attending Phil Callaway’s session, entitled Laugh and Learn, experienced a roller-coaster ride of emotions. Following a standing ovation at the end of Callaway’s session, one teacher commented: "I expected to laugh, but I didn’t expect to cry!"

Responses continue to roll in from a standing-room-only crowd of 400 public school teachers who were "blown away" by the hour-long event. Writes Lindsay Rowe, "I thoroughly enjoyed you, your stories, and wonderful enlightening personality.  You are an amazing speaker so thank goodness your grade 10 teacher saw that in you. Being a first year teacher teaching full day kindergarten, there is a lot of stress but I now have a new attitude and am hoping to embrace the kids' candidness and take time to laugh with with them more. Your session made my day." Laurie Barnstable, Principal of Mt. Pleasant Elementary agrees: "I just want you to know how powerful your session was. You have an amazingly gifted way of using humor to bring refreshing life to 'dry bones.  It was so fabulous to see you at our Teachers’ Convention, and to see the room filled with people who were ministered by you. Keep doing what you’re doing.  It’s a much needed ministry in our fast-paced, relationship-stressed world!

Phil has been asked to return as keynote speaker next February. The event is attended by 8,000 public school teachers.
